Thanks for your interest in working with us! We are looking for candidates working on LLMs / Agentic AI / Multimodal AI, and we are recruiting at all levels. Please read through this page before dropping me an email.
Current Openings (update on June 2026)
- Postdoc: 3 positions available, can start any time from now. Two of these positions are geared toward multi-agent systems and audio-language models respectively, while remaining open to all backgrounds.
- PhD: 2 positions available for Spring 2027 intake (application deadline: Sep 2026)
- On-site Visiting Students (Self-funded/CSC-funded/Financially supported by my grant, for 6-12 months): 1 position available. Priority will be given to students with relevant research / publication experience
- RA: 1-2 positions available, only if you do not need a visa in Singapore
About the Roles
- Postdocs: PhD in related fields with an established publication record in top-tier NLP/ML venues. Beyond a (very) competitive salary and full research resources, I actively support postdocs in applying for their own fellowships and in recruiting/supervising student interns and RAs, to help you build an independent profile, and grow together with the group.
- PhDs: I recruit 0-2 PhD student(s) per intake (Spring & Fall). All PhD positions are fully funded via SUTD/AISG/SINGA/industry scholarship. Our current students hold a diverse mix of scholarships, with highest offering a stipend of $6300/month. Please note that I prefer students to work with me before their official application, as this helps us both determine if we're a good match for this long-term commitment.
- Research interns / Visiting students: Welcome anytime. Positions can be either onsite (self-funded/CSC-funded/funded by me) or remote (without salary). Please note that all internships are research-oriented, requiring at least a 6-month commitment to drive one project through to a paper. Please consider your commitment level and available time first. If you are an undergraduate student at SUTD, please consider joining from UROP programme or directly contact me :)
How to Apply
If you are interested in any positions mentioned above, feel free to send me an email with:- Email subject: Position-Start Time-Name-Affiliation
- Briefly share why you want to work with me and on which area
- Attach your CV
- Any other information / documents that you think would be helpful for me to know about you (e.g, research interests, research experience, transcripts, future plan, research proposal etc.)
I will respond to shortlisted candidates within one week (Sorry I cannot reply to all).
